WELCOME TO CALVIN PRESCHOOL, A SERVICE OF CALVIN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF NORFOLK, INC.

Calvin Preschool is a non-profit, operating as a religiously exempt pre-school. It is a self-supporting school that is sponsored by Calvin Presbyterian Church. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national or ethnic origin. All funds earned by the school shall be reinvested in the school and no part of its earnings shall benefit any one member or individual. The preschool carries Public Liability Insurance on all of its students.

          PURPOSE

​

To provide a half-day program with a developmental approach to learning for ages two, three, four and five year olds that will benefit the child, the parents, and the community. Optional extended , full-day care is provided for students up to the age of twelve with a full service kitchen for preparing lunch meals. Aftercare snacks are provided and all students younger than Kindergarten age take a nap daily.

          PHILOSOPHY

To develop positive attitudes about life, learning, the world, and relationships with others through teaching methods, which encourage children to explore and discover, while challenging them to learn.

          ENROLLMENT CAPACITIES

​

The total enrollment for our school is one hundred ten (110) students with preschool building occupancy at 157. We currently have classrooms for three 2-year-old classes, three 3-year-old classes, four 4-year-old classes and one Kindergarten class. Each class meets the standards set forth by the Division of Early Childhood Education through the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE).
